Lalan's Sustainability Pillars
FSC® Certified Forest Management
The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification has been renewed without interruption since 2010. Lalan's plantations are managed to protect biodiversity, water resources and local communities.
Zero Deforestation Policy
All of Lalan's plantation areas are planned to preserve existing forest land. Not destroying natural habitats is among Lalan's core principles.
Vertical Integration & Traceability
Latex produced from Lalan's own plantations provides full traceability from raw material to finished product. Every step of the supply chain is under independent audit.
100% Biodegradable Latex
Natural rubber latex, unlike petroleum-based synthetic alternatives, is fully biodegradable. The majority of Lalan products are made from this sustainable raw material.
Community Support
Through the Lalith Hapangama Foundation, education, health and infrastructure support is provided to local communities in plantation regions. Small farmers are given saplings and a buy-back guarantee.
Renewable Energy
Through investments in the renewable energy sector during 2009–2014, the environmental impact of energy consumption at production facilities is being reduced.
Forest Stewardship Council Approved Production
The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is the world's most trusted forest-management certification body. Since 2010, Lalan has maintained this certification without interruption through an independent audit body accredited by the Germany-based FSC.
Lalan's FSC certification ensures that its plantations protect biodiversity, conserve water resources and support the livelihoods of local communities.
